Job Description

  • Smooth and organized running of all departments according to the Hilton standard
  • Achieve financial goals both in revenue, expense and profits
  • Guest comments survey results and quality / efficiency of guest complaint follow up / recovery
  • Team Member turnover and general atmosphere within the department is well managed
  • Compliance with project deadlines and quality of reports
  • Quality of housekeeping Team Members’ development and guarantee that training plans are carried out and recorded in a manner set by company policies
  • Quality and consistency of all guest & Team Member safety programs and their followed up
  • Overall departmental progress in areas of people, profit and product
  • General attitude, grooming and team spirit
  • Ensure that SALT score for Housekeeping achieve target
  • To ensure all areas are according to Hilton QA standard
  • Establish and implement the operating standards and procedures
  • Manage the daily activities of Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all offices, seating areas, washrooms, restaurants, rooms, and all public areas
  • Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction
  • Recruit, schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members
  • Responsible for the individual performances of all housekeeping team members
  • Maintain the housekeeping budget, and checks on the department’s expenditure
  • Uphold the highest standard of cleanliness, safety, and conduct
  • Have knowledge of safety standards within the housekeeping department
  • Determines and maintains the department work schedule used to notify staff of upcoming events and ensure proper preparation and staffing for each event
  • Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment, makes arrangements for repair or replacement of used and damaged equipment
  • Ensure quality management and continuous improvement of internal systems and procedures
  • Compiles all necessary housekeeping information and prepares the department’s business plan
  • Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory
  • Conduct pre-event inspections of all rooms, conference halls, seating areas and public areas prior to every event held at the hotel
  • Apply human resource management skills, such as hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating performance
  • Handle all administrative tasks
  • Monitor occupancy for any changes and make necessary adjustments on daily basis
  • Supervise and develop the housekeeping associates in the different  sections of responsibility to ensure  maximum effectiveness
  • Keep track of all the deep cleaning that is carried out in the department and ensure an accurate record is kept
  • Know all duties in the housekeeping section as per the job description  and ensure the system is being followed
  • Develop skills of decision making and problem solving with your staff
  • Establish  safe working conditions and practice, enforce standards of cleanliness and personal grooming, develop presentation for training programmes in consultation with Learning and Development Manager
  • Delegate effectively and transfer specific authority to be carried out by the assistant housekeeper and he/she can to be held accountable for carrying out the responsibility.
  • Ensure checklist lists are used  in every section of the department with special emphasis in suites ,VIP rooms restaurants and restrooms
  • Motivate the staff by  displaying  safety and  positive attitude towards work
  • Ensure monthly inventories are carried out and check that proper records are kept
  • Inspect rooms with the chief engineer weekly basis and do a review
  • Check on the operating equipment and procedures and be able to instruct the staff on proper usage
  • Speed up the work orders with timely follow ups with engineering department
  • Ensure that the controls are in place,  procedure on keys, lost and found and asset movement
  • Compiling the operations budgets and capital expenditure of the housekeeping department and also in setting up the departments goals and objectives
  • Attends all management meetings, and passes relevant information to the team.
  • Perform all the special duties assigned by the Director of Operations and General Manager
