Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
 
The Finance Assistant supports the provision of accounting services ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work in line with the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists in undertaking general accounting transactions including preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Assists in performing treasury accounting transactions based on the supporting documentation
  • Contact clients in order to resolve accounting queries/problem and discrepancies
  • Assists the Lead in fulfilling responsibilities and escalate to next level of authority when necessary
  • Provides assistance to ensure financial records are in compliance with SOPs, IPSAS and other UNDP Financial Rules and Regulations
  • Provides assistance to ensure proper recording of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture
Requirements:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial management OR High School/Diploma education with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of IPSAS and/or IFRS required 
  • Experience in handling of web-based management systems & ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
