Job Description

Scope of Work:

1.    Provide strategic advice including on the delivery of UNFPA's Country Office Communications Strategy;

2.    Provide support for the development of new communication products, including an e-newsletter, corporate brochures and an update of the UNFPA Country Office website;

3.    Develop media and communications materials to promote the UNFPA brand in Malaysia.

4.    Establish partnerships and collaborative initiates with other UN agencies, as well as with non-traditional media sectors

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

1.    Advanced university Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related fields is required.

2.    Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience;

3.    Advanced oral and written communication skills;

4.    Ability to develop convincing and compelling advocacy messages;

5.    Ability to think strategically about how to shape the same message for different audiences;

6.    Expertise in developing effective communications strategies, including strong media engagement;

7.    Organizational skills: ability to stick to a work plan;

8.    Experience in developing and editing communications products, such as infographics, factsheets, photo stories and videos, and social media tools;

9.    Excellent writing skills in English and local language;

10.    Knowledge of the UN and UNFPA, an asset

Contract duration : Four months from September to December 2018, with possibility of renewal
