The worldwide BPO services industry is expected to grow from US$126bil in 2010 to US$162 bil in 2015.

The ITO services field, which includes systems recovery, IT helpdesks and disaster recovery, is projected to grow from US$225bil in 2010 to US$281bil in 2015.

In 2010, the market size of the global KPO industry that covers areas including engineering and design services, medical diagnostic and outsourcing and pharmaceutical R&D was estimated to be US$8.9bil.

SSO is a business model that integrates the common business of organisations, including functions, services or processes that used to exist in more than one part of the organisation, into a shared operation at a centralised location.

This helps increase quality, productivity and cost efficiency by standardising, consolidating and sharing resources.

The business of shared services centres can be contracted out and performed by external parties based on predefined service level agreements, which is also known as outsourcing.

This may result in the transfer of employees and assets involved to the business partners appointed.

Outsourcing is a pivotal tool in accelerating shared services ap-proaches as more companies leverage on global business services strategies to align their business objectives and obtain economies of scale.

With more than 12 years of experience in the shared services industry, Crimson’s scope of services includes general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, product costing, fixed assets and financial reporting.

Meanwhile, since starting as a consultant in Nov 2010, Toh has moved across various business areas, including banking, insurance and the legal divisions.

Toh has managed teams that have helped hundreds of professionals with their career decisions and has insights on what is important in making these decisions, and how companies can offer this.

Participants can enjoy light refreshments during the session.
