Job Description

1) Consular Services: Assist Ugandan nationals residing in the countries of
accreditation with services such as passport applications, emergency travel documents, notarial acts, rescue and repatriation of victims of human trafficking, and other legal documentation in accordance with Ugandan Government guidelines.

2) Customer Service: Provide exceptional front-line service, handling inquiries from the public, and ensuring efficient, responsive communication.

3) Administrative Support: Manage routine administrative tasks including managing case files, handling correspondence, and assisting with day-to-day Embassy operations.

4) Registry & Consular Archive Management: Maintain accurate Consular records, including both physical archives and digital case files.

5) Liaise with local authorities: Act as a liaison officer between Ugandan nationals
and relevant authorities, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

6) Additional Duties: Any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Mission from time to time.

In essence, as the Consular assistant, you will offer key support services, that enable the High Commission’s Consular section to effectively facilitate and grow bilateral relationships.

Requirements:

1) Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
2) 1-2 years of experience in similar roles.
3) Proficiency in social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook), I.T skills, and marketing analytics tools.
4) Knowledge of the English language, in addition to languages spoken in the ASEAN region is an advantage.
5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6) Knowledge of human resource management,
7) Knowledge of International Relations especially in ASEAN will be an advantage.
8) Strong organizational and time-management skills.
